About you work

Discipline:
Installation, performance.

Technique:
Mainly text, sculpture, and drawing.

Statement:
My interest for form and writing emerged as I started out working with both sculpture and text. The contrast between the two mediums is for me a fascinating contradiction. The physical vs. the immaterial, the visual vs. the narrative. Within my work I try to find a relation, an interaction between the two mediums, but also how they can be used and expanded within an artistic context. When it comes to sculpture there is often a shape, such as a geometric figure, and/or a material that functions as a starting point. By analysing the characteristic of a shape and the history behind its material, familiar functions and meanings are exposed. In my texts I try to work with these discoveries and follow the pattern that has been laid out for me. The stories and theories, which are created, are somewhat easy to relate to. The works focus on questions concerning the thought and the body, the immaterial and the physical, text and sculpture.

Plans for your residency?
Continue working with text and found out new ways of how to connect that with visual art such as sculpture.
