About you work

Discipline: Visual Arts

Technique: Installation

Statement:
I am interested in the basic geometry of triangle, square and circle. In fact, my works remind us the frame of stereo-typed misconception that we often apply in everyday life, which is beyond their outlooks on mathematical and mechanic emphasis.
Those evidences of repeated calculations and corrections to speculate the unthinkable factors tell us the results of his experiments are in fact the layers of very record of the processes gone through.
The structure with volumes and planes emerged from the fundamental figurative design stands strong exoskeleton with the combined lines. The overall impressions on those structures lead us to the mutual sense of straining and relaxing by the ensemble of line, plane and volume beyond the exact realization of my design.
As space can be more seriously deployed rather than drawing itself in a frame, my works take more advantages from the outer margin of calculated forms. And the nature of them, which can be read between the “rays”, is a part to find its lyricism closer to amusement rather than a kind of cold logic even though I have not put any particular emphasis on its story telling scheme.

Plans for your residency?
An absolute value does not exist in the time.
However, Time is relative depending on one’s situation.
I am living and working in Seoul, and I would like to face fresh air on opposite side of the planet, Trondheim to be whole different conditions for new works, Also, I will experience absolute quiet in the relative time and nature.
